The HSE Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has published extensive guidance on the management of infectious intestinal diseases (IID) for use in Public Health and will be a useful resource for Environmental Health Officers.

The training slides relating to the Primary Course in Food Safety are now available to purchase in Chinese to all our licenced trainers.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland today announces a national consultation to seek opinions on the best way of putting calorie information on menus in Ireland. This is an initiative Minister Reilly announced late last year by writing to Fast Food Outlets and Cafes requesting that they consider including calories on their menus. Feedback is requested from the Environmental Health Profession.

Dr James Reilly T.D., Minister for Health today (Wednesday 21st December, 2011) announced that he has now approved and signed regulations which will place an obligation on tobacco manufacturers to include graphic photographs on tobacco products packaging depicting the negative health impacts associated with smoking.
