John Shelly Bursary 2003

The presentation of the John Shelley Bursary was made at Chief O’Neills Hotel, Smithfield, Dublin on December 4th, 2003.

The presentation was made by Mrs. Betty Shelley, wife of the late John Shelly. Mrs. Shelley’s son Lorcan was also in attendance.

The Bursary for 2003 was made to Joint recipients;

Voluntary Services International, Dublin Branch represented by Mr. Tom Ryder and Recife Children’s Project, Brazil represented by Mr. Kevin Murphy

Chairman of the EHOA, Mr. Colm Smyth, presided.

Tom Ryder, Voluntary Services International, and Kevin Murphy, Recife spoke on the work of their respective organisations and outlined the projects for which the bursary funding is to be put.

Many members, retired members and colleagues of the Association attended the launch.
