The John Shelley Bursary

The John Shelley Bursary is presented by the Environmental Health Officers' Association on an annual basis. The award is presented in memory of Mr. John Shelley, founder member of the EHOA.

John Shelley Bursary Criteria.

The bursary is a maximum value of €5,000 and may be divided between any number of successful nominees.

Nominations for the bursary may only be accepted from one or any of the following:

• Fully subscribed EHOA members
   
• Fellows of the EHOA
   
• Honorary/Associated members of the EHOA
   
• Professional Bodies affiliated to the EHOA
   
• Professional Bodies affiliated to International Federation of Environmental Health.

Bursary nominations may only be accepted for groups/projects whose ethos/work/aims are in tangent with those of the EHOA. The nominated project should preferably be in an area directly relevant to Environmental Health. Nominations for the bursary will not be accepted for individuals.

Bursary nominations may only be accepted for registered charities and/or non-profit organisations. Pressure groups or groups with direct political affiliations will not be considered.

Bursary nominations may be accepted for local, national or international projects/groups and nominations must be made in writing to the Honorary Secretary of the EHOA. Supporting material should be included where possible.

Where no nominations fulfilling the above criteria are received, the Officer Board of the EHOA may select a recipient(s). Members of Central Council may ratify the award with regard to this selection(s) at the next programmed meeting of Central Council.
