Chairman: Mr. Shane Keane 

Shane Keane is a Senior Environmental Health Officer with the Health Services Executive West. Since qualifying in 1994 with a Diploma in Environmental Health from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a B. Sc in Environmental Health (First Class honours) from Trinity College, Dublin he has worked in several different counties during his career and is currently based in Galway.

In 1999 he completed a M. Sc in Health Services Management, also from Trinity College, Dublin. He also holds a Diploma in Quality Management and a Certificate in Quality Assurance.

In his career to date he has worked on different National groups, the most recent been in relation to Infectious Diseases and Drinking water quality (Cryptosporidium) with the EPA. He has also sat on a sub group of the National Disease Surveillance Centre which looked at the Management of Infectious Diseases from Deceased Individuals. He has also trained as a Facilitator and delivers in house courses in Induction and Personal Development Planning for Health Services Executive West. This is his second term as Chairperson of the Environmental Health Officers Association.

Deputy Chairman: Caitriona Stack 

Caitriona Stack graduated from the University of Ulster at Jordanstown with a BSc Hons in Environmental Health with a Diploma in Industrial Studies in 1998.  She worked in Edinburgh City Council in Scotland for 4 years and then took up a post in Co. Louth with the HSE in 2002.  In 2006 she became a senior Environmental Health Officer.  Caitriona became involved with the EHOA when she took up the position of Branch Secretary for the North East Branch of the EHOA in 2004.  She took on the role of Deputy Chair for EHOA in October of 2010 and continues to work in Co. Louth with responsibility for the inspection of pre-school services. 
 

Honorary Treasurer: Mr. Noel Donnelly

 Noel Donnelly graduated in 1982 with Diploma in Environmental Health from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work in 1991 from University College Dublin. He has worked in a number of different positions in the Dublin Region since 1982 and became a Senior Environmental Health Officer in 2000. Noel is currently an Acting Principal in Fingal Food Control, HSE Dublin North East. He is a member of an EHOA working group responsible for developing a Butcher Shop Information Booklet. This is his first term as Honorary Treasurer of the EHOA

 

Honorary Secretary: Ms Jennifer Shorten

 Jennifer Shorten graduated from DIT Cathal Brugha St in 1999 with a Second Class Honours degree in Environmental Health.  She joined the EHOA in 2000 and at the same time became Secretary for the Eastern Branch.  She took up the role of PRO in 2003 for a short time before taking a career break to travel and work in Australia.  She worked as an EHO in Sydney for a number of months before heading home via South East Asia.
On return to Ireland in 2004 and her role as an EHO in Dublin, she also resumed the role of PRO for the EHOA.  She was mainly involved in the promotion of the EHOA nationally and the organisation of events and conferences. In conjunction with the then Chairman Mr. Maurice Mulcahy Jennifer produced a Sunbed Consultation Document which was submitted to the Department of Health and Children in 2005.   She was nominated for the position of Hon Secretary in 2008 and has been in this role since then.  Her main body of work to date, in conjunction with the EHOA Hygiene Education Committee has been the production of a new food safety training DVD, the revision of the EHOA Primary Course in Food Safety and the overhaul of all training material available through the EHOA.  Jennifer is also an Acting Senior EHO based in South Dublin involved in Food and Tobacco Control and Environmental Pollution Control.

Public Relations Officer: Ms Lisa Fitzpatrick

Lisa Fitzpatrick received her Bsc in Environmental Health from Dublin Institute of Technology in 2003. Her first connection with the EHOA was when she received the EHOA's student of the year award on graduation. She held the position of Eastern Branch Secretary from 2005 until 2009. She took up the role of PRO for the Association in autumn of 2009. Lisa is a practicing EHO in South Dublin currently working in the field of Food Control.
