Chairperson : Caitriona Stack
Caitriona Stack graduated from the University of Ulster at Jordanstown with a BSc Hons in Environmental Health with a Diploma in Industrial Studies in 1998. She worked in Edinburgh City Council in Scotland for 4 years and then took up a post in Co. Louth with the HSE in 2002. In 2006 she became a senior Environmental Health Officer. Caitriona became involved with the EHOA when she took up the position of Branch Secretary for the North East Branch of the EHOA in 2004. She took on the role of Deputy Chair for EHOA in October of 2010 until stepping up to Chairperson in October 2012. Caitriona continues to work in Co. Louth with responsibility for the inspection of pre-school services.
Deputy Chairperson: Petter Gaffey
Peter Gaffey is an Environmental Health Officer with the HSE West. Since graduating in 2001 with a Diploma in Environmental Health from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a B.Sc in Environmental Health from Trinity College, Dublin he has worked as an Environmental Health Officer in Sligo and subsequently in Galway where he is currently based. In 2005 he completed a diploma in People Management with the National College of Ireland. He is currently a member of the EHOA Pest Control Advisory Committee. This is his first term as Deputy Chairman of the EHOA.
Honorary Treasurer: Noel Donnelly
Noel Donnelly graduated in 1982 with Diploma in Environmental Health from the Dublin Institute of Technology and a Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work in 1991 from University College Dublin. He has worked in a number of different positions in the Dublin Region since 1982 and became a Senior Environmental Health Officer in 2000. Noel is currently an Acting Principal in Fingal Food Control, HSE Dublin North East. He is a member of an EHOA working group responsible for developing a Butcher Shop Information Booklet. This is his first term as Honorary Treasurer of the EHOA
Honorary Secretary: Martin Fitzpatrick
Martin Fitzpatrick qualified in 1984. After some years working in Ireland and obtaining an MSc. in Environmental Science from TCD, he worked as Senior Programme Manager for Child Survival in Indonesia. After a brief spell back home he was seconded to the World Health Organisation for two years. He was appointed Principal EHO in 1997. In 2000 he was seconded for two years to the Department of Health and Children as Environmental Health Advisor. He has worked as advisor, consultant and author to the World Health Organisation and the United Nations Development Programme on environmental health projects in Europe, Indonesia, Latvia, Kazakhstan and Thailand. Following the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004 he worked as environmental health advisor to Concern International in Banda Aceh. He has been Associate Editor of Journal of Environmental Health Research for the past seven years. Since 2001 he has been Principal Environmental Health Officer with the Air Quality Monitoring and Noise Control Unit of Dublin City Council. This is his first term as Honorary Secretary of the EHOA.
Public Relations Officer: Lisa Fitzpatrick
Lisa Fitzpatrick’s first contact with the EHOA was when she received the Student of the Year award on graduation from Dublin Institute of Technology with a Bsc in Environmental Health in 2003. In 2011 she completed a diploma in Environmental Impact Assessment from Portobello Institute. She took up the post as Secretary to the Eastern Branch of the EHOA in 2007 until entering her current role as PRO in 2010. Lisa currently works as an Environmental Health Officer in South Dublin in the area of food control.
